This is why I'm asking for a program which would allow me to locate and modify MFT in binary mode. Windows API doesn't allow touching a file with invalid characters in its name, so we have to touch it ourselves. but after all it is Micro$oft Window$, isn't it?!Īnyways, the only possible solution is to modify the MFT directly. As it contains colons, Windows is unable to delete it (or even access it).įirst off, it is so stupid that an operating system would allow creation of a file with invalid name (even if it is crashed). It is a remnant of a system crash (while a video software was open and running). The file name is something like: 00:14:23,568 ![]()
